I decided to create a Facebook for this blog since it may be an easier way to share posts and it would allow me to post quick updates. This would be helpful if I get a good tip and want to share it quickly or--to use a recent example--to notify readers if I return boots that were out of stock. Right now, I update each post and it's probably a pain for readers to keep checking them. So feel free to "friend" me! But I made all the posts public so you can still see the posts and comments if you prefer not to.
Also --and I apologize for the digression since this isn't related to boots-- I found out about a contest recently and thought it was pretty exciting. I don't read a lot of fashion blogs but I do enjoy Effortless Anthropologie and I suspect that some of you are fellow Anthropologie fans. EA is holding a pretty great contest to celebrate that blog's 5 year anniversary. I wanted to share it because I suspect some of you might be interested (and because it allowed me to get another entry into the contest :). More info about the contest after the jump.
Don't worry, I'm still searching for boots!

Hi LC! FYI - Another blog that I read (a petite blog) just did a review on the Aquatalia Drew: http://www.extrapetite.com/2013/11/riding-boots-for-short-and-narrow.html
ReplyDeleteI'm also LOVING my Aquatalia Unitys (finally! thin calved riding boots!) - thank you for mentioning them in a boot roundup - I keep meaning to send you an email with fit and pics!!
Hi Anon! Thanks for letting me know about the "extra petite" blog! That post (and the comments) are helpful. I saw that you (at least I think it was you) mentioned me in the comments. Thanks :) Also, thanks for the update on the Aquatalia Unitys. I'm going to add your feedback to that boot roundup because it's super helpful.
DeleteHi Anon - a reader asked if I knew the shaft height measurement for the Aquatalia Unity. It would be great if you could share it. She's 5'2" and is wondering if they'll be too big for her. I'm sure everyone would love to see pics if you have them too!
DeleteHave you seen these frye boots at nordstroms? they have a 13" circumference for size 8.5? I'm just wondering if you know other places I can find these boots since the only size they have left is 7.5 and I am an 8. This circumference is much smaller than any other frye boots ive tried on at size 8!

These ones at Zappos look like they could be the same - http://www.zappos.com/frye-carson-zip-tall-cognac-antique-soft-vintage?ef_id=Un0rTQAABJ1teGUy:20131115194558:s
DeleteI'm REALLY wary of Nordstrom's calf circumference listings. Zappos says a size 8.5 has a 15" circumference. There's a Frye in Washington DC so I'll see if I can check it out and let you know. Also the one review on Nordstrom's site said the boots ran about a half-size large. No reviews on Zappos yet though.
I went to the Frye store in DC today but couldn't these exact same shoes. They did have similar options but none seemed like they would work for skinny calves. The closest was the Melissa scrunch, which I reviewed last year. Those could work for someone who is a size 6-6.5 and has a 12.5-13" calf, but for the most part, I think women with larger shoe sizes won't have much luck with Frye's current selection. I hope a reader chimes in to say I'm wrong because Frye boots are so pretty and wonderful quality.
