Welcome to Little Contessa's blog on boots!

Hello! Welcome to Little Contessa's blog, a site devoted to searching for boots suitable for girls with narrow calves. I've always loved the Fall season, with its crisp and clear days, beautiful colors, and great fashion! Fall catalogs are generally filled with pictures of women in an assortment of great outfits, all with perfectly fitting boots. And I feel like every year, I fruitlessly search for boots to wear with sweater dresses, skinny jeans, and cute skirts. But my 12-inch calves obviously make this very difficult! I’m hoping to use this blog to share information about boots that I come across during my search, and help others find boots that fit and avoid ones that don’t.

I will be spending some time tweaking the setup and will begin posting soon.

Cheers!

  1. Thank goodness....I have the same issue....my calves are almost invisible despite years of ballet.

  2. I just found your blog from your Piperlime posting about the Naya Quail boots. You are fabulous! I too have really skinny calves and am obsessed with finding cute boots. (Your photos in jeans could have been of my legs!) I'm so glad you started this blog - thank you. I'll pass along any good skinny boots I find.

  4. Hello and thank you so much for starting this blog! I just read all your posts. I am 5'6" with 12" calves. I have some beautiful Corso Como boots that I paid an arm and a leg for and do not wear because the gaping calves. Definitely going to look into finding a cobbler to fix that. I have some other boots I wear with thicker socks to try and fill in the gaping calf area. Eventually I will invest in a pair from DUO but this year I'm on the hunt to find a casual pair. I am already returning round one but am not giving up. :-) Great to find the Simple Brrlin still available. I'm ordering those now. Be happy to send you some pics of what I find otherwise. Thanks again and keep up the good work! This is so useful.

    1. Hi Katie! Thanks for your nice note. I'm so happy that this blog has been helpful for you. It seems like there could be slim pickings this year so I've been feeling a bit discouraged about not providing great options to my readers. Feel free to send me pics if you find anything. I will definitely not stop searching!!

  5. Hi there, I was just inquiring if you were going to continue with your blog?. I have really enjoyed it, as I have such a passion for lovely boots, I took your advice and bought a few pairs you recommended.
I imagine there was not a call for it through your summer, but perhaps with the approach of winter you may be back hunting that perfect boot. I live in Australia and was so thrilled to stumble across your blog. Many thanks for your hard work, it has been much appreciated, cheers Sarah :)

    1. Hi Anon!
Thanks so much for your nice note. I'd really like to continue my blog this season. I've been searching for narrow calf boots but haven't had much luck yet. Last season was a challenging one with limited options, and I felt so bad about not being able to find a range of options for my readers. I'm hoping this Fall/Winter will be much different.
